Lesser Known Horror & Action Films, 80s & 90s Hong Kong Action, Kevin Costner Films
- Rob once did a set visit for the 2011 "Fright Night" remake. He had a great time meeting Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, and others, but the highlight was being on set during the filming of the night club scene. You can't see him, but he's standing behind the pillar in the background.
- "Sleepwalkers" isn't among Rob's favorite Stephen King films, but he didn't know that when he bought a copy of King's screenplay from an illicit source. He brought it to a horror convention for director Mick Garris to sign before the film even released, and Garris obliged by writing "You shouldn't have this! Mick Garris"
- Rob is a member of the Critics Choice Association and a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic.
Experience
While many of Rob's contemporaries got into the movie coverage game right after college, Rob spent his formative years managing retail stores and working in the Peet's Coffee IT department. That changed in late 2007 when he reached out to a young film site called Film School Rejects about writing opportunities. They didn't pay at the time, but free movies and a chance to share his opinions were more than enough for a hobby. He went full-time as a writer some years later, and while FSR is still his home, he's found a welcoming family here at /Film, where he's enjoyed crafting lists and introducing readers to obscure cinema.
Education
Rob has a Bachelor's degree in English & Creative Writing from the University of West Florida. One of his very first assignments was a film review of 2000's "Frequency."
