Ariel has been working as a freelance writer and editor for over 12 years for many different publications including, but definitely not limited to, Row Three, Sound on Sight, Rue Morgue Magazine, CBC Comedy, FANGORIA Magazine, and /Film. She's contributed to BBC Culture's cinema polls from 2017, 2018, and 2019, the 2017 book "Yuletide Terror: Christmas Horror on Film and Television," and made several guest appearances on podcasts including, but not limited to, Horror Queers, The Matinee Cast, and the /Filmcast. In 2018, she started working as the freelance Canadian correspondent for FANGORIA Magazine, reporting on set visits like "The Invisible Man," "The Grudge," and "Rabid." Over the course of her career, she's attended several film festivals including TIFF and Fantastic Fest, and she also served as a jury member at both Fantasia Film Festival and Popcorn Frights Film Festival. She has worked as the Editor of Shudder's weekly newsletter The Bite for the last two years.

Education

She has a combined honors BA from McMaster University in Art History and Theatre & Film.
